1.Introduction to Environmental Flows Monitoring System
Environmental Flows Monitoring System is a hydrological monitoring system used to monitor the flow and velocity of rivers in the ecological environment.Environmental Flows Monitoring System is a device suitable for open channel flow measurement based on the principle of "ultrasonic pipeline flowmeter" at home and abroad.It is applied to open channel flow measurement by extending the design structure of the ultrasonic pipeline flowmeter.It has a multi-layer flow measurement method, which can distribute the transducer layer structure design according to the channel type, and measure the flow rate of different water layers to improve the measurement accuracy of flow measurement equipment.

3.Working principle of Environmental Flows Monitoring System
The ultrasonic time difference method uses an acoustic time difference method to measure the flow.The principle is to install one or more pairs of transducers at a certain angle between the two banks of the river and the flow velocity direction (usually 45 degrees).One transducer emits ultrasonic waves, and the other transducer receives ultrasonic waves (the ultrasonic transmission route is called the acoustic path).The average flow velocity of the ultrasonic transmission time difference in the direction of the straight and countercurrent directions can be calculated by the acoustic time difference method.Multi-layer flow velocity monitoring can be realized, the average flow velocity is calculated through data modeling, and the instantaneous flow rate is calculated by the flow velocity area method.

1.Measurement advantages:
1.1 It is developed based on ultrasonic pipeline flowmeter design standards and calibration specifications.It has extremely high accuracy and stability, and the open channel measurement accuracy can reach more than 95%;
1.2 The flowmeter is installed in the channel of open canal rivers.Multi-layer transducers can be installed to measure the flow velocities of different layers in real time, and the flow velocities of different water layers are sampled multiple times;
1.3 Since this flow measurement system adopts a multi-layer sensor structure, a laminar flow rate distribution model can be established after running for a period of time, that is, even if only one layer of sensor can still work normally, the equipment of this system can still work efficiently;
1.4 Use IP68 protection level: The magnetostrictive water level gauge (or double-stage magnetic encoded water level gauge) and flow rate transducers in this system all have IP68 protection standards, and can still work normally even when the channel water potential is high and all equipment is flooded;
1.5 Can be corrected: Over time, the changes in the channel structure can be changed, and the rate-dependent parameters can be input into the integrated integrator through manual rate determination method, which can further correct the accuracy of this system.
2.Installation method characteristics
2.1 Embedded structure: The multi-layer flow meter and water level meter are installed in the channel twice in embedded form, not blocking water, avoiding the attachment of water plants, floating objects, etc., greatly reducing the maintenance workload;
2.2 The number and height of the transducer can be set according to the water level elevation: Due to the diversity of channel structure, the transducer department sets the height according to the characteristics of the channel (such as: 0.3H, 0.6H, 0.9H three-layer structure);
2.3 Non-water blocking characteristics: The equipment adopts embedded installation method, with almost no head loss, water blocking, etc., which improves irrigation efficiency.
3.Interference factors
3.1 The equipment is suitable for open channels with channel widths within a range of 0-50 meters and with certain regular sections;
3.2 When the equipment is used in water systems with high sediment content, the measurement accuracy is affected to a certain extent;
3.3 The equipment cannot monitor the siltation of channels in real time.The channel siltation must be checked regularly and silted or determined.
